Artist Talk
with Watie White, Mark Peiser, and Calista White
Saturday, June 13th — 7:00pm
Learn more about the artwork on display in our current exhibition from the artists themselves! Watie White, Mark Pesier, and Calista White will be in attendance to speak about their individual artwork and how the three family members have come to show their work together for the first time. Their discussion will be moderated by poet Todd Robinson.

Nebraska Crossroads Music Festival
Women’s Bandura Ensemble of North America
Sunday, July 26th— 11:30am
Gallery 1516 is partnering with the Nebraska Crossroads Music Festival for a special performance! The Women’s Bandura Ensemble of North America (Ukrainian: Ансамбль Бандуристок Північної Америки) is a twenty-five-member bandura and vocal collective, driven by their passion for the traditional folk instrument and the Ukrainian musical tradition. The WBE works not only to preserve the bandura tradition, but to update it, exploring the instrument’s rich artistic possibilities – from the Baroque to contemporary, to ancient melodies. The ensemble is composed of women from nine cities in North America, including Toronto, New York, and Chicago.

Join us for a casual talk with acclaimed photographer Rev. Don Doll! Father Doll is the artist behind the Visions collection currently on display at Gallery 1516, which documents the communities of the Pineridge and Rose Bud reservations in South Dakota. Father Doll will discuss the stories behind his photos and answer audience questions.
